1 de abr. de 2016 · The setting of this short is a saloon in which a lonely cowboy enters. A voiceover tells what this cowboy has been through but as it turns out everyone in the bar can hear the voice (something Stranger than Fiction also did). It results in a very entertaining nine minutes. The dialog is smart and funny and the cast plays their roles convincingly.

The Ranch has served as a location for countless productions, from Django Unchained to Deadwood . The film’s producer, Sarah Platt, managed to finagle a reasonable rate for the low-budget production to shoot there over Halloween weekend.

But in “The Gunfighter,” Gregory Peck makes every one of those trips around the sun look like an eternity he spent passing through hell. Director Henry King’s Western is like a reverse “High Noon.”.
I love westerns. This is a western short film. I love western short films. Especially when they're done as clever as this. «A gunfighter walks into a bar» could have been the opening of an ordinary joke, but this isn't an ordinary film. That line is heard by every character in the film as the narrator takes on quite the active role.
