Kazuyo Sejima est née à Hitachi ( préfecture d’Ibaraki ), au Japon 1. Diplômée en 1981 de l' université pour femmes du Japon, elle intègre la même année l’agence de l’architecte japonais Toyō Itō. Elle travaille avec lui jusqu’en 1987, date à laquelle elle fonde sa propre agence : Kazuyo Sejima & Associates 1, 2.
14 de ago. de 2020 · Kazuyo Sejima has taught at Princeton University, the Polytechnique de Lausanne, Tama Art University, and Keio University. Ryue Nishizawa hails from the Kanagawa prefecture (just south of Tokyo), where he graduated from Yokohama National University with a master’s degree in architecture in 1990.
Born in the Ibaraki region of Japan in 1956 Kazuyo Sejima is a notable figure in the Japanese architecture community. Based in Tokyo she is the co-founder of the prestigious firm SANAA (Sejima and Nishizawa and Associates) along with Ryue Nishizawa. After completion of her master’s degree in 1981, she joined Toyo Ito and Associates until 1987.

BIOGRAPHY. Kazuyo Sejima’s works are cool-headed depictions of the social alienation of her generation. She was born in Ibaraki prefecture, Japan, in 1956 and studied at Japan Women’s University, receiving an undergraduate degree from the Housing Department in 1979 and a master’s degree in architecture in 1981.
