The Genesee Wesleyan Seminary Collection covers the years 1830 to 1940 and so spans the whole period of existence of the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary. There are materials relating to the administrative and financial aspects of the seminary including board of trustees' minutes, library records, and daily, department, general and student accounts.
3 de out. de 2014 · In 1832, a Methodist organization opened the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary in Lima, Livingston County, which garnered the honor of hosting the school over such rivals as Henrietta and Brockport.
He attended the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, a liberal arts college-preparatory institution in 1845 and later that year was admitted to Wesleyan College, in Middletown, Connecticut - the best that Methodist higher education had to offer at the time. It is here that he met Ellen Stowe, who would become his wife and lifetime partner in ministry.
The Genesee Wesleyan Seminary was the name of two institutions on the same grounds in Lima, New York. The Genesee Wesleyan Seminary ( I) was founded in 1831 by the Genesee Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The plan for its establishment dates to 1829 when the Conference appointed a committee for this purpose.

A treasurer deposited funds with himself as banker and loans were made from such funds to corporations in which the official was interested.
