  3. St Anne’s accepts the highest proportion of female students (55 per cent) of any Oxford college. The college stands between Woodstock and Banbury roads, next to the University Parks. Former members include Amanda Pritchard, Danny Alexander, Ruth Deech, Helen Fielding, Martha Kearney, Simon Rattle, Tina Brown, Mr Hudson, and Victor Ubogu.

  4. In 1952, the Society receives its royal charter and officially becomes St Anne's College. The Principal, Eleanor Plumer, gives as a gift to the College the right to use her family's coat of arms and motto 'consulto et audacter' (purposefully and boldly).   5. St Anne’s College, Oxford is one of the best places to study English anywhere in the world. Like other Oxford colleges, we give you the opportunity to read a challenging and wide range of literature with the individual attention of expert tutors (more information about the Oxford English course is available from the English Faculty here and here).

  6. St Anne’s has one of the largest college libraries in Oxford with some 110,000 volumes. There are good collections in all subjects, and excellent collections in most. Education, English, philosophy, politics and medicine are among the subjects especially well catered for.

  7. Each year St Anne’s welcomes up to 40 'Study Abroad' Visiting Students, who spend up to a year experiencing the academic and social life of an Oxford College. How to apply We welcome applications from undergraduate students studying outside the UK, with a minimum grade point average of 3.7 (out of 4) or equivalent.
