George Cornwallis-West was born on 14 November 1874. He was the only son of Colonel William Cornwallis-West (1835–1917) and his wife, Mary "Patsy", née FitzPatrick (1856–1920). Military career. Cornwallis-West served in the Scots Guards, becoming a lieutenant.

Her mother unsuccessfully attempted to seduce Albert, Prince Consort, and Cornwallis-West herself became mistress of the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) at the age of 16. The affair was discovered, and in 1872 she was married to the Lord-Lieutenant of Denbighshire William Cornwallis-West.

William Cornwallis Cornwallis-West was born 20 March 1835 in Florence, Toscana, Italy to Frederick Richard West (1799-1862) and Theresa Whitby (1805-1886) and died 4 July 1917 Ruthin, Denbighshire, Wales, United Kingdom of unspecified causes. He married Mary Adelaide Virginia Eupataria FitzPatrick (1856-1920) 3 October 1872 .
He made his will 20 Oct 1611 , desiring to be buried in the chancel of the parish church of Orley, near Brome. He left debts amounting to nearly £4,000, to pay which five manors were to be sold. His wife Jane Mewtas and infant son were named executors, and Sir John Hobart supervisor. Cornwallis died 13 Nov 1611.
