Cecil Fielder played for the Detroit Tigers from 1990-1996 and hit at least 25 homers each season. His 7-year Motown run was the first of its kind in the long and proud tradition of the Tiger franchise. Cecil’s streak of seven 25-homer seasons has since been matched by only one Motor City man – Miguel Cabrera.

Cecil Fielder (51 home runs in 1990) and Prince Fielder (50 home runs in 2007) are the only father and son in baseball history to each have a 50-home run season. Up until 2021, they were also the only duo with a 40-home run season as well, since joined by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (48 home runs in 2021) & Vladimir Guerrero (42 home runs in 1999, 44 home runs in 2000).

The Venn diagram of those hurlers yields two overlaps: Tom Gordon and Jamie Moyer -- the only pitchers to surrender at least one homer to each Fielder. Cecil hit three homers off Gordon, while Prince hit one.
