A large proportion of the book contains detailed information on the domestication of animals and plants but it also contains in Chapter XXVII a description of Darwin's theory of heredity which he called pangenesis.

  4. DC BD 834. DC BD 833 - This is the first issue of the first edition. Freeman in his listing says that there are 4 lines of errata in Vol. 1. In his editorial text he says that there are 5 errata but gives no number of lines - he does say that there are 9 errata in Vol. 2 in 7 lines. In fact there are 5 errata in 6 lines in Vol. 1.
