Purple Medley was released on the stand-alone single Purple Medley, released in March 1995 to coincide with The Ultimate Live Experience tour in Europe. This medley was created to fulfill a request from the promoters of The Ultimate Live Experience tour who wanted Prince / to play his old hits. The video was screened prior to the concerts.

It was simultaneously released with The Sacrifice Of Victor and The Undertaker home videos. The track is a mix of many hits and well-known songs from Prince’s career.
Purple Medley is a remix montage of Prince ‘s popular hits, all specially re-recorded by him at Paisley Park Studios in 1994. The tracks are included in the single as two versions, full and edit.
