  2. 3 de jul. de 2023 · I am wholeheartedly delighted that I decided to re-read Gardens of the Moon, which seems like an oxymoron when considering that this is often a brutal and unforgiving dark fantasy epic. My next steps are to review the rest of the novels in this series including Ian C. Esslemont’s books Novels of the Malazan Empire when they fit chronologically.

  3. 21 de jun. de 2022 · Let’s address some of the themes, and the tone of the book. As I have noted in many reviews, interfering gods are always a concept I love, and there is plenty of this in “Gardens of the Moon”. All the deities and sub-deities seem to have competing agendas. Some gods just appear to be in it for the pranks, and the fun.

  4. 20 de abr. de 2020 · When I first read Gardens of the Moon, I put it down after 200 pages and thought that I might not ever bother trying again. Steven Erikson throws you in at the deep end and you have to claw your way up to the top of the learning curve through the first third of the book, but if you still end up not remembering or understanding the basics of the story, you will never enjoy the book.

  5. 17 de abr. de 2020 · In this Gardens of the Moon book review, I discuss how amazing it is. The world is rich and its history angry and proud. 6. 4 de mar. de 2008 · First of all, Gardens of the Moon, though the first in the series, The Malazan Book of the Fallen, is an intermission. I think this may be why so many people have trouble getting into it. It starts after a massive battle, after an emperor was assasinated, after a city has fallen.

  7. 23 de fev. de 2024 · From the mystical floating city of Moon’s Spawn to the war-torn city of Darujhistan, each location is vividly described, immersing the reader in a living, breathing world. 4. Character Analysis. The characters in “Gardens of the Moon” are three-dimensional and deeply nuanced, reflecting the complexity of the world they inhabit.
