Life. He succeeded to the burgraviate when his elder brother John I died in 1300. In 1307, he and King Albert I of Germany led an Imperial Army into the Battle of Lucka against the Wettin margraves Frederick I of Meissen and Dietrich IV of Lustia, and were defeated.

Prince Joseph Ernst Friedrich Karl Anton Meinrad of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (24 May 1702 in Sigmaringen – 8 December 1769 at Haag Castle, Haigerloch) was the fifth Prince of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.
This marriage formed an important connection for the House of Hohenzollern, as it strengthened the bond between the Swabian and Brandenburg branches of the house. Magdalena became the ancestress of the Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen lines. Magdalena died in 1496 and was buried in the collegiate church of St. James in Hechingen.
