Something I was particularly struck by was how Soderbergh managed to gracefully toe the line between straightforward drama and pure camp. All of the ingredients to make an over-the-top cult classic were there - Rob Lowe's portrayal of the plastic surgeon, the lavish set pieces, the fact that they kept the ridiculous title "Behind the Candelabra."
