The Royal Victorian Order Grand Cross Star. This Order was instituted on the 12 April 1896 by Queen Victoria. The star is a silver tone eight-pointed star with the central feature being the cross crowned with the royal cypher of Queen Victoria. Around the outer edge of the central disk is the orders motto and founder – “Victoria”.
This was the highest class of the Royal Victorian Order. Today, it is distinct from the order, and issued by the chancery of the Royal Victorian Order. After 1931, the order ceased to be purely British. The Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes and the Mayor of Nice were the first to receive the order in 1896. Item No: 40-044.
The Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire is an order of chivalry founded by Queen Victoria on 1 January 1878. The Order includes members of three classes: Knight Grand Commander ; Knight Commander ; Companion ; Appointments terminated after 1947, the year that British India became the independent Union of India and Dominion of Pakistan.

It has five classes (Knight or Dame Grand Cross, Knight or Dame Commander, Commander, Officer, and Member - although some commonwealth realms like Canada use only the lowest three ranks which do not carry title).
