Charles 10:05, 12 July 2006 (UTC) [ reply] Actually, I think that 'House of Oldenburg' refers to the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg, in Niedersachsen (old Oldenburg state), which is where the Oldenburg Dynasty originated. They didn't inherit Oldenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, until 1460, at the death of a maternal uncle.
