Born in Holland, Keppel attended William of Orange to England in 1688 as a page of honour. He rose quickly in the king's favour, and was appointed groom of the bedchamber in 1691 and master of the robes in 1695.

Succeeded as Earl of Albemarle in 1942. Married Lady Judith Wynn-Carrington (d. 1928) in 1909, with whom he had five children: Lady Cecilia Keppel; Derek Keppel, Viscount Bury (1911-1968); Lt-Cdr. Hon. Walter Arnold Crispin Keppel; Lady Cynthia Rosalie Keppel; and Hon. Richard Edward Harry Keppel.

22 de dez. de 2021 · Keppel was born on June 5, 1702, at Whitehall Palace, London, the only son and one of two children of Arnold Joost van Keppel, first earl of Albemarle, and Geertruid Johanna Quirina van der Duyn Keppel, countess of Albemarle.
