14 de out. de 2022 · Bruce Sutter, a Hall of Fame reliever and the 1979 Cy Young winner, has died. He was 69. Sutter was recently diagnosed with cancer and died Thursday night in hospice, surrounded by his family, one of Sutter’s three sons, Chad, told The Associated Press.
Bruce Sutter amassed 260 saves during his first nine big league seasons, becoming one of the most dominant pitchers in the game. But it was his last 40 saves – the ones that made him just the third pitcher to reach the 300-save mark – that may have been the most impressive.
