2 de out. de 2022 · If you use stock index fund that more closely matches Wellesley's strategy, such as Vanguard Value Index (VVIAX), you get an almost perfect match: -14.59% versus -14.71%. And if you compare Wellesley to VIVAX (Value Index investor’s shares), which goes back to 1993, the latter’s CAGR is 1.59% higher (9.02 v. 7.43%).
And since 2/3 stocks dominate the volatility of Global Wellington, you won't see much difference vs. ACWI. There's so much correlation between a highly diversified active fund vs an index fund that until/if passive indexing "breaks" you're still going to get largely the same performance as the index funds that are 80-90% cheaper to own.

3 de jul. de 2016 · I hold Wellesley and Wellington admiral shares in an IRA, currently representing about 15% of that port. I may increase Wellesley in the future to raise the combo to 20%, but no more. These two funds under Wellington Management have stood the test of time very well, but who knows what can happen or go wrong in the future, therefore a more limited % for me.
