Hollow Knight has map markers that show you where points of interest are on the map for you to revist later. Salt & Sanctuary could really benefit from this and I'm not sure why people would downvote this. Sute it's still playable and an amazing game but it was a mistake to not have an optional map feature.

I remember screenshotting each area map from Fextra, open it up in Paint, and just draw a thick red line along the paths I've explored.
