Born March 16, 1988, in Los Angeles. Jhené Aiko got her start contributing back-up vocals for R&B group B2K. In 2013 the performer earned her first Top 40 hit after appearing on Big Sean's single "Beware," which also featured Lil Wayne. Later that year, she released an EP titled Sail Out, which included "The Worst."
For Jhené Aiko, having a daughter inspired the Los Angeles native to return to music after dipping her toes in the spotlight in the early 2000s. At just 15 years old, she was collaborating with boy band B2K and preparing to release her solo debut. But that album never came to fruition. Aiko bowed out of her label contract and focused on school.
