  3. 25 de jul. de 2017 · David Fincher est quant à lui fan du roman, dont il avait cherché à acquérir les droits, mais reste encore échaudé par son expérience traumatisante au sein de la Fox avec Alien 3 (1992). Après avoir été rassuré par Laura Ziskin, Fincher se lance dans l’écriture du scénario avec Jim Uhls et aura comme premier choix fort de réinstaller la narration en voix-off.

Granted, I was only in middle school at the time and hadn’t quite discovered the world of film at large beyond what was available in the multiplex.
