Dracula is a novel by Bram Stoker, published in 1897. An epistolary novel, the narrative is related through letters, diary entries, and newspaper articles. It has no single protagonist and opens with solicitor Jonathan Harker taking a business trip to stay at the castle of a Transylvanian nobleman, Count Dracula.
Bram Stoker (1847-1912) escreveu seu primeiro ensaio aos 16 anos, em Dublin (Irlanda), e acabaria se tornando um crítico teatral não remunerado na juventude. Foi apenas aos 29 anos, após mudar-se com a esposa para Londres, que iniciou as primeiras experimentações na ficção, produzindo textos deste e de outros gêneros para o jornal londrino Daily Telegraph.
