On August 14th 1970 Montilivi Stadium, the new pearl of the city, was inaugurated. It was the second field available to Girona, after Vista Alegre had served for almost 50 years. At the beginning of the 1967-68 season the board planned the construction of a new field that, in addition to offering four times more space than the Vista Alegre Stadium, would be patrimony of the club.
O anterior Estádio José Alvalade foi inaugurado a 10 de Junho de 1956, [1] na qual marcaram presença cerca de 60.000 pessoas. Com a conquista para sediar o Euro 2004 os estádios em Portugal precisavam ser mais modernos, então o antigo Estádio de Alvalade foi demolido em 2003 para dar lugar ao novo estádio.
25 de jun. de 2023 · Montilivi tindrà més seients que mai, però tot i així continuarà sent l’estadi amb menys capacitat de Primera. Els gironins se situen a la cua amb un aforament aproximat de 14.642, quedant just per darrere de Vallecas. L’estadi del Rayo Vallecano és penúltim amb 14.708 localitats.
