The TV-movie version of "Pony", with Elizabeth Taylor, is poor, missing the book's tone and humor. "Some Kind of Hero" bowdlerizes the novel. Of the Kirkwood novels I've read, I disliked only "Good Times / Bad Times". Other people love it; perhaps I missed the point of the story. "There Must Be a Pony!"
