Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin was one of the most gifted pianists of his time, and he left a rich legacy of piano music, in addition to a small number of unique orchestral works. He was unique in many ways, and in this article I want to survey his life and share a few of his most significant works, to try and put this enigmatic musician into some sort of context.

Although his early work in both fields was influenced by the lush romanticism of Frédéric Chopin, Scriabin ultimately forged new paths for his music, conjuring works of a singular artistic vision informed by his synesthesia and an obsession with the occult, mysticism, and Nietzschean philosophy.

W 1884 w wieku dwunastu lat rozpoczął naukę u słynnego nauczyciela Nikołaja Zwieriewa. Jego kolegą z klasy był Siergiej Rachmaninow. W 1886 skomponował słynną Etiudę cis-moll op. 2 nr 1.
