Richard Benjamin Haymes was an Argentine singer, songwriter and actor. He was one of the most popular male vocalists of the 1940s and early 1950s. He was the older brother of Bob Haymes, an actor, television host, and songwriter.

Irish actor Dick Haymes played a variety of strong roles in Hollywood cinema. Haymes started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Four Jills in a Jeep" (1944) with Kay Francis, "Irish Eyes Are Smiling" (1944) and "Diamond Horseshoe" (1945).
