13 de out. de 2022 · Giovan Carlo de' Medici (24 July 1611 – 22 January 1663) was an Italian cardinal of the House of Medici. He was the second son of Grand Duke Cosimo II of Tuscany and Maria Maddalena of Austria , and a brother of the future Ferdinando II de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany .
1 de nov. de 2022 · He was the last great personality of the Medici family and inherited the taste and spirit of his great-uncle Cardinal Leopoldo de’ Medici. His enlightened patronage made Florence once again an artistic centre and encouraged the development of the lighter, more vivid and painterly style of the 18th century.

Fu particolarmente vicino all’ ambiente del notevole collezionista e committente cardinal Giovan Carlo de’ Medici, fratello del granduca di Toscana Ferdinando II. Lorenzo Corsi fu lui stesso collezionista di rilievo, come emerge dagli studi di Donatella Pegazzano.
