The Subterraneans beautifully captures the time, the feeling, the music, the love, the conflict. ~the film however~ 🤢🤢🤢🤢. Trite garbage. Consumeristic drivel. Recasting Mardou with a white woman is par for the course for this time, but still disappointing. This film says nothing, does nothing, and is nothing.

Eind jaren vijftig: een gedesillusioneerde schrijver zoekt geestverwantschap en romantiek onder de Beatniks in de rokerige nachtclubs van San Francisco. Verfilming van Jack Kerouacs gelijknamige boek, dat de beklemmende sociale en artistieke normen van de jaren veertig en vijftig aanklaagde.
26 de fev. de 2015 · Curieusement il existe un film adapté de cet ouvrage avec le même titre anglais de Ranal MacDougall, mais en réalité, à part le titre je ne vois pas bien le rapport entre les deux, cependant, soyons juste, il y a dans ce film de la bonne musique et on y voit Gerry Mulligan, un des héros de la musique selon Jack Kerouac, jouer de son saxophone baryton [2].
