Biography. Son of Philip II; succeeded him as Duke of Savoy in 1497. Philibert married twice, first with Yolande Louise of Savoy (1496-1499); then with Margaret of Austria, daughter of Maximilian I and widow of Juan Prince of Asturias. Both marriages were childless and Philibert was succeeded by his brother, Charles III. New search.
After Yolande's death in 1499, the de jure rights of Jerusalem and Cyprus were lost to the Savoy family. Charles however, as some sort of heir-male, took those titles, which his successors also used. In 1713, Charles's great-great-great-grandson Victor Amadeus II of Savoy received confirmation to that title from the Kings of Spain and France , who also claimed it.

Margaret of Austria (1480-1530) who was Governor of the Seventeen Provinces of the Netherlands (1507–1515, 1519–1530) and a daughter of Maximilian I and Mary of Burgundy and had no children from this marriage.
