31 de dez. de 2023 · Duncan James Corrowr Grant nasceu em Rothiemurchus, Escócia, em 21 de janeiro de 1885. Ele era filho do major Bartle Grant e de sua esposa, Ethel. Quando menino, passou vários anos na Índia, onde seu pai estava de plantão. Mais tarde, ele foi educado na St. Paul’s School, em Londres; na Westminster School of Art e na Slade School of Art.

Duncan Grant. Painter and decorative artist. Born in Rothiemurchus, Scotland, Grant studied at Westminster School of Art and in Paris with Jacques-Emile Blanche. In 1909 he shared rooms in Fitzroy Square with Maynard Keynes, and struck up a close friendship with his neighbours Virginia Stephen (later Woolf) and her brother Adrian.
