On the death of her niece Elizabeth Grey, Viscountess Lisle (1505–1519), the daughter of her brother John Grey, 2nd Viscount Lisle (1481–1504) by his wife Muriel Howard, the barony of Lisle passed to Elizabeth, who thereby became suo jure Baroness Lisle. Her husband Arthur Plantagenet was created Viscount Lisle on 25 April 1523.

Elizabeth and Edward’s rule was happy from then on, until King Edward died suddenly of pneumonia in April 1483. The new King Edward was young and so his father’s brother Richard was placed as Lord Protector. Richard feared the Elizabeth’s family would seize power, so he arrested Elizabeth’s brother, Anthony, and her son Richard Grey.
Character Analysis. As love stories go, this one probably won't win any awards anytime soon. Lady Grey's husband has passed away, and her lands have been taken away from her. Women didn't have much power once their hubbies died, but instead of suffering through it, Lady Grey decides she wants to get her lands back and goes to the king for help.
