30 de out. de 2020 · In the late 1800s, Henry Paget, 5th Marquess of Anglesey caused quite a stir with his outrageous costumes and outlandish lifestyle. A profound British peer with a penchant for luxury, Paget eventually spent all of his family’s inheritance on his hedonistic social life accumulating massive debts for his descendants after his death.
Henry was the eldest son of Henry Bayly, who changed his name to Paget in 1770 on becoming the 9th Baron Paget. The baron became the 2nd Earl of Uxbridge in 1784, after which Henry was styled Lord Paget. He was educated at Westminster School and Christ Church, Oxford, and in 1790 was elected as M.P. for Caernarfon Boroughs.
Henry Bayly Paget died 13 March 1812, and was succeeded by his eldest son, HENRY WILLIAM PAGET (1768 - 1854), born 17 May 1768, who had a brilliant military career and was created 1st marquess of Anglesey 4 July 1815 as a reward for his prowess on the field of Waterloo, where he lost a leg.

5 de jul. de 2016 · Henry Anglesey was born in London on 8 October 1922, the only son of Charles Henry Alexander Paget, 6th Marquess of Anglesey (1885-1947), soldier and courtier, and his wife Lady Victoria Marjorie Harriet (née Manners, 1883-1946).
