27 de out. de 2023 · Quick facts for kids. Lady Charles Cavendish-Bentinck (born Anne Wellesley; 29 February 1788 – 19 March 1875), known between 1806 and 1816 as Lady Abdy, was a British aristocrat and a great-great-grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II.
Wellesley was born on 6 July 1951, she is the third child and only daughter of Valerian, Marquess of Douro, later 8th Duke of Wellington, and Diana McConnel. Through her father, she is a direct descendant of the 1st Duke of Wellington. [1] She was raised in London and at Stratfield Saye House, the family's seat in Hampshire.

Richard Wellesley first made his name as fifth Governor-General of Bengal between 1798 and 1805. He later served as Foreign Secretary in the British Cabinet and as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland . In 1799, his forces invaded Mysore and defeated Tipu , the Sultan of Mysore, in a major battle.
Lady Mary Elizabeth Wellesley (1772 – 1794), died at 22. The Hon. Henry Wellesley (20 January 1773 – 27 April 1847); later 1st Baron Cowley. Lord Mornington died in May 1781, leaving her and their eldest son Richard, who was 21 then, to raise the rest of the family. She disliked Arthur when he was young.
