Winnaretta Singer (8 de enero de 1865 - 26 de noviembre de 1943), princesa Edmond de Polignac, fue una importante mecenas musical y heredera de la empresa de máquinas de coser Singer Corporation. Estudió piano y órgano. En 1893 se casó con Edmond de Polignac, homosexual como ella, pudiendo así vivir en libertad cada uno, gracias a esta unión.

With her husband, Prince Edmond de Polignac, she wanted to create a place for artistic development. Their musical evenings were held more regularly with time and were inspired by the ones of Winnaretta’s old friend, Marguerite Baugnies, who had married sculptor René de Saint-Marceaux in 1892.

Princesse Edmond de Polignac and her husband both loved music, the prince a well-regarded amateur composer. They opened their Paris mansion to prominent artistic and literary luminaries. After the prince’s death, Winnaretta continued the salon.
