Lincoln College was founded by Richard Fleming, the then Bishop of Lincoln, in 1427.His goal was to combat the Lollard teachings of John Wyclif, to be “a little college of true students of theology who would defend the mysteries of Scripture against those ignorant laymen who profaned with swinish snouts its most holy pearls“.

Students living in Museum Road and Bear Lane houses are on the ‘Out of College’ plan, which allows for 37 weeks in residence (i.e. three full terms plus Christmas and Easter vacations). First-year accommodation for 2024-25 on the ‘In College’ plan is £30.30 per night, which works out at around £1797.80 per term.
