George Bernard Dantzig ( Portland, 1914. november 8. – Stanford, Kalifornia, 2005. május 13.) amerikai matematikus, a lineáris programozás egyik úttörője, a szimplex módszer megalkotója. Jelentősen hozzájárult az operációkutatás, közgazdaságtan, statisztika és informatika fejlődéséhez.

Dantzig er kendt for sin udvikling af simplex-algoritmen , [1] en algoritme der løser lineære programmeringsproblemer , og for andet arbejde med lineær programmering.

Retirement. George Dantzig became an emeritus professor in 1985, though not willingly. He was “recalled to duty” and continued his teaching and research for another thirteen years. It was during this period that Dantzig’s long-standing interest in stochastic optimization got even stronger.
