GRENVILLE, GEORGE NUGENT-TEMPLE-, first Marquis of Buckingham (1753–1813), second son of George Grenville [q. v.], by his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Sir William Wyndham, bart.,was born on 17 June 1753. The 2nd Earl Temple was succeeded as 3rd Earl by his nephew, George Nugent-Temple-Grenville (son of George Grenville, the Prime Minister), who married Mary Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Robert Craggs Nugent, Earl Nugent (d. 1788), bringing estates in Cornwall (St. Mawes), Essex (Gosfield, formerly owned by the Knight family) and Ireland.
Buckingham complained that his own vote and proxy ‘were lost by George never holding the slightest communication’.22 Nugent voted for inquiry into the Dublin disturbances, 24 June, and to refer the Irish Catholics’ petition alleging bias in the administration of justice to the judicial commission, 26 June 1823.

Grenville, George ( 1712–1770 ), prime minister, was born at Wotton, Buckinghamshire, on 14 October 1712, the second of the six sons of Richard Grenville (1678–1727), landowner and whig MP, and his wife, Hester (bap. 1684, d. 1752), the second daughter of Sir Richard Temple, third baronet, of Stowe, Buckinghamshire.
Richard Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, 1st Duke of Buckingham and Chandos KG, PC was the eldest son of George Nugent-Temple-Grenville, 1st Marquess of Buckingham, son of George Grenville, Prime Minister of Great Britain. His mother was Lady Mary Nugent, daughter of Robert Nugent, 1st Earl Nugent. His brother was Lord George Grenville.
