23 de mai. de 2024 · May 23, 2024. The King has approved the appointment of Admiral Sir George Zambellas as the new lord warden and admiral of the Cinque Ports. The announcement was made on Tuesday, May 21 and follows the death of the previous warden, Lord Boyce in November 2022. Sir George is only the third admiral to have held the office during its 800 year history.
Sir George Zambellas, född 4 april 1958 i Swansea, Wales, är en brittisk före detta sjöofficer, amiral och förste sjölord. Zambellas började sin sjömilitära karriär som helikopterpilot . Som chef för HMS Chatham tjänstgjorde han vid den brittiska interventionen i inbördeskriget i Sierra Leone och belönades med Distinguished Service Cross 2001.
