Ella Enchanted is een Brits-Amerikaanse romantische filmkomedie uit 2004 geregisseerd door Tommy O'Haver, deels gebaseerd op de gelijknamige roman van Gail Carson Levine (1997). Het is in feite een gemoderniseerde versie van Assepoester die gebaseerd is op het boek Ella Enchanted .
Ella Enchanted is a modern-day Cinderella fairy tale staring Anne Hathaway. Ella is given the gift of obedience by her fairy godmother (Vivica A. Fox). Ella must obey any orders that are given to her by anyone. Her mother knew about the spell and did not use it to hurt Ella. Ella's mother dies and a few years later, her father remarries.
