This film sees Stuart Gordon tackling Poe instead of Lovecraft. It's a very loose adaptation of The Pit and the Pendulum, set during the Spanish Inquisition and focusing on the evil Grand Inquisitor as he tortures and burns his way through the alleged local sinners in the name of the church. This one is far from perfect, but it hits hard in places.
