All Hail King Julien. This animated series serves as a prequel to the original "Madagascar" movie franchise. Julien feels terribly guilty after ridding the kingdom of a noisy jungle rooster. An etiquette book inspires Julien to plan a debutante ball. Mort fills in as king to entertain an important guest when Julien is ill and everyone else is away.
It worked well with a fun yet dark tone and a 1970's feel to it. It serves to tie up loose ends from the Iron Man trilogy, whilst also setting up a possible future film. The twist in Iron Man 3 pleased some, angered some and surprised most. I was worried this short film would try to amend or ret-con the twist but it was handled very well.
