Tributes. Since 1903, members of Arts and Letters have delivered commemorative tributes to fellow members who have passed away. These remarks celebrate and reflect on the lives and work of the members being honored and acknowledge their contribution to the arts. Existing members induct new members and present awards in architecture, visual art, literature, and music, and a distinguished speaker delivers the keynote Blashfield Address.
The Board is comprised of the President, two Vice-Presidents for Architecture, three Vice-Presidents for Art, three Vice-Presidents for Literature, two Vice-Presidents for Music, the Secretary, and the Treasurer. Each year the American Academy of Arts and Letters honors over 70 architects, visual artists, writers, and composers with awards and prizes ranging from $5,000 to $100,000.
