South Carolina state court judge DeAndrea Gist Benjamin was confirmed in bipartisan fashion to the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. The Senate voted 53-44 on Thursday to confirm Benjamin, who will be the second woman of color to serve on the Richmond, Va.-based court.
