That is confirmed with one of the 1934 uncut sheets shown here with the Lajoie card printed last in the second row. The company was not said to have included these in the 1934 packs.

Lajoie, born September 5, 1874 in Rhode Island, was the youngest of at least 8 children in a family that had moved from French-Canada a few years earlier. Nap's father Jean died seven years later, and the children were soon forced to find work in order to support the family.

He played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Athletics and Cleveland Naps, and managed the Naps from 1905 through 1909. Lajoie set the all-time American League single-season mark for the highest batting average (.426) in 1901. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 1937.
