14 de mai. de 2018 · Novello, Ivor. Novello, Ivor (1893–1951) Welsh composer, actor and dramatist, b. David Ivor Davies. He is best known as the writer of comedies and light musicals, including The Dancing Years (1939) and Perchance to Dream (1945). Novello composed the World War I anthem “Keep the Home Fires Burning” (1914).
It was designed by Hazel Underwood, an undergraduate of St Martin’s School of Art in London, in 1955. To this day it is still cast in solid bronze and weighs just over 7lbs. The Ivors Classical Awards take place on 14 November at BFI Southbank in London, where 11 Ivor Novello Awards will be presented to eight category winners and three Gift of the Academy award winners.

Ivor Novello was born David Ivor Davies, on 15 January 1893 to parents David Ivor and Clara Novello (nee Davies) Davies, in Cardiff, Wales.
