Research at Guildhall School explores fundamental questions about the creative arts. It embraces a wide range of disciplines within music and drama including composition, performance, pedagogy, institution studies, historical musicology, music and literature studies, cultural history, electronic music, creative writing and music therapy.
Guildhall School offers dedicated studios for Electronic & Produced Music students. Our main studio is specifically designed for the front and back end of the production process (recording and mixing/mastering), featuring an acoustically isolated control room, recording booths and tie lines to multiple spaces for recording of larger ensembles.
Graham Johnson, Senior Professor of Accompaniment, leads annual Song Guild recitals, and in keeping with the School’s commitment to experiment and innovation, Iain Burnside (Collaborative Piano Teacher) has initiated several ground-breaking performance projects combining music and drama.
