April 2016. edit data. Christopher Nicholson was born in London in 1956. He read English at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and lives in south-west England. His first novel, THE FATTEST MAN IN AMERICA, was published in 2005. THE ELEPHANT KEEPER, which followed in 2009, was shortlisted for the Costa Best Novel award and for the Encore Award.
Among the Summer Snows describes a series of walks Nicholson undertook in the late summer of 2016 in the Scottish Highlands. It was published by September Publishing in hardback in 2017, with a paperback edition published a year later. 'Strange, beautiful, eerie and unique, this is the best mountain book I've read in years.'.
