Il cavaliere oscuro - Il ritorno (The Dark Knight Rises) è un film del 2012 co-scritto, diretto e co-prodotto da Christopher Nolan.. Basato sul personaggio di Batman di DC Comics. È il capitolo conclusivo di una trilogia iniziata nel 2005 con Batman Begins e proseguita nel 2008 con Il cavaliere oscuro, entrambi diretti da Nolan e con protagonista Christian Bale.
Monumentální film. Možná až moc. Byl jsem z něj vyčerpaný, jako kdybych musel tři hodiny na zádech nosit Banea. The Dark Knight Rises má obrovský záběr, sleduje asi miliardu různých postav, přičemž přesnou síť motivací a vztahů mezi nimi film nepředkládá úplně přehledně (alespoň napoprvé).
In the Dark Knight Rises, Bane releases prisoners from Blackgate Prison, which is located on the main Gotham island where this story takes place, so Arkham has to be on a different island (The Narrows, I think). Greg Cox's langauge tends to switch tones, making it feel like it was two writers were in charge of the novelization.
