21 de jun. de 2018 · bandstand: the broadway musical on screen The Tony-winning musical Bandstand will be screened nationwide for two nights next week. Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor’s ode to the 1940’s, musicians, and vets coming home from WWII won a Tony for director/choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler ( Hamilton ) and his high-octane, heart-stopping, spectacular dancing.
This was a special Fathom two-night showing. Though no longer currently available, Bandstand will probably show up soon on Amazon Prime or something like that like Newsies did. This was a recording, not to be confused with a film adaptation, of the Broadway musical featuring the original cast.
BANDSTAND: The Broadway Musical on Screen is directed by Lorenzo Thione, Matt Hoffman. 1945: The boys are back. With American soldiers returning home, singer-songwriter Private First Class Donny Novitski dreams of rebuilding his life, forgetting his demons, and for everything to be just like it was before.
