The Pickin’ Parlor began as a studio in a shot-gun house in the notorious Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. After hurricane Katrina washed away the recording studio and most of the neighborhood in 2005, Mike relocated to Lawrence, Kansas.
The Pickin Parlor itself is a bright and comfy space with a good sounding recording loft - and I enjoyed hanging out in sweet Lawrence town in my down time. I highly recommend recording with the very clever Mike West in the lovely 9th Ward Pickin' Parlor.
