    The Stowe 1st teams compete at the top level of National school sport and we enjoy regular fixtures each Saturday against schools in the very competitive Midlands League, this allows up to 35 teams across a range of sports to have competitive opportunities. Sporting success is measured not only in results, but also in participation and enjoyment.

  2. Stowe School opened with its first 99 pupils, mainly aged 13, on 11 May 1923. There were two boarding Houses, Bruce and Temple, then both in the western part of the mansion. The following term Grenville and Chandos Houses were formed in the eastern wing, with Cobham and Grafton following soon afterwards as further parts of the house were converted into accommodation and classrooms.

Mr Angus Watson (Former Staff, 1955 – 1970) Angus died peacefully on 9 September 2019, aged 87, after a long illness, surrounded by his family in Wells, close to where he and his wife, Alison, a fine bassist, lived in retirement. Angus taught at Stowe from 1955 until 1970 and held the role of Director of Music.

Pupils are asked to be committed and enthusiastic learners, to embrace challenges and to see failure as a necessary step in achieving progress.

  5. Stowe. 10am-5pm. (Current Pupils and their Parents do not need to book to attend) Everyone is warmly invited to join us for Speech Day. Over the decades, Speech Day has provided a wonderful opportunity to bring together the Stowe Community and reflect upon the achievements and progress of the School over the preceding twelve months.
