Father of 4-6 children, including Edmund and Jasper Tudor. Owen Tudor was the son of Maredudd ap Tudur and Margaret ferch Dafydd. We do not know much about his early life.

His son Maredudd ap Tudur (d. 1406) was father of Owen Tudor. His other two sons, Rhys ap Tudur (d. 1409) and Gwilym ap Tudur (d. 1413) were important players in the uprising of Owain Glyndŵr, their first cousin.
